Designing the Schools

Each School Plan Contains the Following:

1) Purpose/Description of Staff Standards

2) Standards/Curriculum/Assessment

3) Safety/Discipline

4) Statement of What Every Student Deserves

KNOW THE LEDGE HIGH SCHOOL
Raymond Carson, Jalen Ensley, Kimanni Shannon, Joseph Sanchez, and Kathy Rosales.

Our school is called Know the Ledge High School. We will call it that because people who got kicked out of schools and told they are not smart can go to school and have another chance to learn new things. We believe that everyone is smart, but they don’t always get to show it. Know the Ledge means to do your best before you quit. Even if students have flunked, they will still get their chance to get good grades and get better.

KNOWLEDGE WORLD
Noelle Lyons, Delano Hankins, Robert Okereke, Danielle Moore, and Louis Collins.

Our school is called Knowledge World because you can go there and get more knowledge. You need more knowledge so that you can get ready for college, and learn about how the world works. We will spend a lot of time learning about history. History is very important because it will help you see how the world got to be like it is. When you grow up and leave Knowledge World, we want you to go out and change the world. That’s why we will give you a lot of knowledge.

NEW TASTE HIGH SCHOOL
Dominique Smith, Morgan Bryant, Jade Belle, Candace La Violette, and Taylor Smith.

New Taste High School is built with steel and concrete. In front of the school there are two murals. One shows life now, and another shows life from history. In the back of the school there are two play areas, and a blacktop. The school is two levels high. On the first level there are six homeroom classes, an art room, restrooms, and a food area. On the second level there is a history class, math class, snack bar, and restrooms. Our school has a large parking lot, and an auditorium that seats 1000.

The purpose of our school is to concentrate on New (current) events. The school is called New Taste because those words represent recent information, but we will focus on Old events (history) too. Students will study history and figure out why it’s important to the things going on today.

COLORFUL LIFE SCHOOL
Erin Williams, Chad McDaniel, Nayali Lavendar, Shelby White, and Donovan Pullum.

The school is called The Colorful Life School. The reason we named it that is because the school will make the children ready for their lives. They will also know what’s out there in the world. Colorful means full of color. Life is a place to learn, and get knowledge, and become smart and be great. School is a place to learn, and be helpful. All of these things will happen at our school.

Our school will be located on Oxford in Los Angeles. It will be a 5 – story building. Colorful Life School will be painted with many different colors on the outside and inside. The school will represent all of the different colors of people in the world. We will have a playground, a cafeteria, and an on-campus library.
